Midfielder David Mellor has returned to Oldham after his loan spell with non-league outfit Alfreton.
The 21-year-old scored once in seven starts and Latics boss Lee Johnson felt his spell in the Vanarama Conference was beneficial. He said: "Dave had a good month playing regular games for Alfreton Town. He now returns to our squad to compete for a first XI place." Mellor has made one appearance for Oldham this season, in the 3-0 Capital One Cup defeat to Middlesbrough in August.
