Nice have signed former Marseille defender Souleymane Diawara, the Ligue 1 club have announced.
The 35-year-old was a free agent after his contract with Marseille expired and Nice moved to snap up the veteran to shore up the defence of a team which survived by just two points last season.
The club announced Diawara's arrival on their official website although no details of the length of the deal were revealed.
The Senegal international has two Ligue 1 titles to his name with Bordeaux and Marseille and has also played for Le Havre, Sochaux and Charlton.
