Bayer Leverkusen have insisted that Christoph Kramer will see out his loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach and then return to the club next summer.
The midfielder linked up with Monchengladbach in July 2013 on a two-year loan deal but his profile has increased considerably following an impressive season in the Bundesliga.
Kramer was part of Germany’s successful World Cup squad and started the final as a late replacement for Sami Khedira, before getting injured and having to come off in the first half.
He has reportedly attracted a lot of interest and Napoli have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, but Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller says they have no intention to sell.
Leverkusen will honour their agreement with Monchengladbach before welcoming Kramer back into their squad in a year’s time.
“He will remain another season a Borussia Monchengladbach and then he will come back to us,” Voller confirmed to Rheinische Post.
“Napoli? I've read what has been written in Italy and talk of contact with Napoli is just rumours.
“It's quite normal that a few clubs have contacted us considering the good World Cup he played, but he's a part of our plan for next years.”
