Carlisle's quest to beat the drop have been hit as midfielder Charni Ekangamene has been recalled from his loan by Manchester United.
The 20-year-old has been at Brunton Park since joining on a half-season loan and has made four appearances for the Cumbrians in that time. But he has been summoned back to Old Trafford to feature in the Red Devils' development squad. "Charni is a great lad and we wish him all the best with Manchester United," manager Graham Kavanagh told the club's official website. "We saw some good stuff from him but it became a complicated situation with the fact he needed to be playing for the development squad down there. "Warren Joyce and Man United have been superb for us with all of their players so this is one we completely understand. Like I say, he's a good player and I'm sure he'll do well."
