MK Dons forward Dean Bowditch has signed a new one-year contract with the club.
Bowditch, who has recently returned to action after a month out with a groin injury, was set to become a free agent in the summer but he has prolonged his stay in Milton Keynes into a fourth season and will now remain at stadium:mk until June 2015. "I'm ecstatic that we've been able to keep hold of Dean for another year," said Dons boss Karl Robinson. "He's an integral part of the group so to make sure he'll be here next season is big business for us. "He's had an unpredictable year but for us to acquire his services for a fourth season is important, as you've seen in the games since he's been back. He bolsters the ambition of the club and he fits perfectly into the mold of player I want at this football club." Bowditch has scored 28 goals in 106 appearances since joining the Dons on a free transfer from Yeovil, twice topping the club's goalscorer and assist charts. Although injuries have affected him this season, the 27-year-old is hoping to repay the faith shown in him by manager and chairman. He said: "I'm absolutely delighted. After the season I've had, it has been difficult for both myself and the staff so I thank them so much for putting that trust in me and giving me another year's deal. "I would never go anywhere. I feel I've got a point to prove both next season and in the remainder of this season. I want to get out there and show what I can do because I've missed a lot of this year and people want to see me out there."
