Chinedu Ede has finally ended speculation about his future by agreeing a four-year deal that will take him to Bundesliga side Mainz.
The protracted deal to take the 25-year-old from second division side Union Berlin looked to have fallen through last week only to be completed after the clubs agreed a £1million fee.
"We are delighted to have signed Chenedu," Mainz chief Christian Heidel told the club's
official website. "He has an exceptional technique.
"He is not yet that consistent in his performances, and so on, but we will be teaching him all he is missing."
Making way for the exciting winger are Tunisian striker Sami Allagui and veteran Germany defender Malik Fathi.
Allagui signed a four year deal with Hertha Berlin after the clubs agreed a £1.5m deal for the hitman who bagged 14 goals in 47 games at Mainz, while Fathi will be joining Kayserispor on-loan with view to making the deal permanent.
The Turkish side will pay £130k for the first season with a clause allowing them to keep the Berlin-born player who has a Turkish father and a German mother for a further £350k next summer.
"Fathi had asked us to be allowed to move away from the club," Heidel explained to
Allegmeine Zeitung newspaper.
"We have found the necessary agreements with Kayserispor regarding the loan deal and wish him all the best."
