Teen wants Olympics and Euros

Iker Muniain has risked the wrath of Athletic Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa by expressing his desire to play at Euro 2012 and the Olympics. The 19-year-old forward has been named in Vicente del Bosque's squad for the friendly against Venezuela in midweek and looks set to travel to Poland and Ukraine in the summer. While many head coaches and managers are proud to see their players appear for their country, Athletic may object should Muniain be asked to appear in the London Olympics as well. That has not stopped the player himself suggesting that a busy summer schedule would be feasible and he has actively put himself forward for the two events. "There is a possibility if the coach calls me up then the chance is there to play in both the European Championships and the Olympic Games," he said. "It would not be a problem to play in the two competitions, both are great and all players want to play for every available trophy. "Every game for Spain is important." Muniain was called into the Spain full squad for the first time for the Venezuela game, but has played at every level from Under-16 to Under-21 level for La Seleccion.
