Borussia Monchengladbach have announced Raul Bobadilla will join Young Boys subject to passing a medical.
The 24-year-old joined the club in 2009 but has failed to command a regular place in their starting line-up.
Gladbach's sports director Max Eberl said: "In the second part of the season it will be difficult for Raul to get starting spots so the transfer at this moment makes sense."
Bobadilla joined the club from Swiss side Grasshoppers Zurich before having a short loan spell with Aris in Greece.
Monchengladbach are currently fourth in the Bundesliga, just three points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.
