Senegal striker leaves France for Turkey

Fenerbahce have signed Senegal international striker Moussa Sow from Ligue 1 side Lille. The 26-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract after successfully undergoing a medical on Friday. Sow had been taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations, but was allowed to travel to Istanbul to finalise his transfer. "Ourselves and Lille have agreed a deal for Moussa Sow to wear our colours," read a statement on the club's official website. "Moussa Sow went to the Universal Hospital Camlica for a medical and then to the club's headquarters where he signed the official contract. We wish him well in the Fenerbahce shirt."

Interest

The former Rennes man has admitted there was plenty of interest in his signature, but he only wanted to join Fenerbahce. "There were of course a lot of teams interested but this was the club I really wanted to join," revealed the striker. "I'm very happy. As soon as I arrived I was very happy to see the excitement here. I'm looking forward to playing in front of Fenerbahce fans."
