Northampton midfielder Ryan Gilligan has joined Newport County on loan until the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old, who has made more than 200 appearances for the Cobblers, has made the move with a view to a permanent switch. Gilligan made five appearances for Torquay while on loan at Plainmoor during the latter part of last season, but has not featured for Northampton this term. He began his career as a trainee at Watford and joined the Cobblers following his release in August 2005.
