Defender delighted to be back in fold
Italy defender Gianluca Zambrotta has his sights set on winning 100 caps after being recalled to the Azzurri fold.
Zambrotta's international career looked in doubt after he was overlooked by new coach Cesare Prandelli for his first two games in charge.
However, Prandelli has included the AC Milan full-back in his squad for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Serbia.
Zambrotta, who has 97 caps to his name, insists he had no hesistation in accepting Prandelli's invitation to return to the national team.
"At the World Cup I said that I didn't feel finished. Last Thursday when Prandelli rang me to ask if I was available, I didn't think about any sort of revenge (for being dropped)," said Zambrotta.
"I simply said yes. I'm not here to take anyone's place, I didn't say I'm returning and expecting to play.
"But I'm close to 100 appearances and I want to reach it."
