Viergever emerges as a possible replacement for Dutch club
A number of English clubs are reportedly tracking AZ Alkmaar's Gill Swerts and the Dutch club could target Sparta Rotterdam's Nick Viergever as a replacement.
Speculation in Holland has credited Roberto Di Matteo's West Brom with an interest in defender Swerts as they make plans for next season in the Premier League following their promotion.
The 27-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract, is out of favour at AZ and the Eredivisie side could be prepared to listen to offers.
AZ could then look towards investing in the future and full-back Viergever has emerged as a possible signing after impressing at a struggling Sparta.
But the 20-year-old remains coy on the speculation, telling RTV Rijnmond: "I am only focusing on Sparta until the end of the season. I will hear after that from my agent which clubs have shown interest."
