Stride needs surgery on groin problem
Burton Albion captain Darren Stride is out for the rest of the season as he requires an operation on his groin injury.
Stride, who has made nine appearances this term, has not played for the Brewers since the 4-1 home defeat by Notts County in late December.
The club's record appearance holder will now sit out the rest of the campaign to leave manager Paul Peschisolido short of defensive options.
Peschisolido also revealed the club are still trying to discover the extent of Richard Jackson's calf injury, with the full-back likely to be sidelined for at least another fortnight.
"We don't know what the problem is," said Peschisolido. "We've done every sort of test going to try to get to the bottom of it.
"Hopefully, he will be all right after a bit of rest."
