Striker to come out of retirement after less than a week

Former Italy striker Christian Vieri could be set to come out of retirement to sign for Brazilian side Botafogo. Reports emanating from South America claim Vieri, who only announced his retirement last week, is poised to join Botafogo. Vieri's agent Frank Assuncao claims the 36-year-old forward has agreed a deal to join the Rio de Janeiro club. "It's all done," Assuncao told globoesporte.globo.com. "We have already signed a pre-contract agreement and agreed upon the details." Vieri announced his decision to hang up his boots last week after being without a club since agreeing to end his contract with Atalanta in April. Botafogo president Luiz Pereira also revealed the club are closing in on the signing of Vieri's former Italy team-mate Francesco Coco.
