Espanyol ace set for Racing
Espanyol have confirmed that Spanish starlet Marc Torrejon has turned down a move to Everton.
The Premier League club were keen to recruit the highly-rated 23-year-old, who is not in the plans of Espanyol coach Mauro Pochettino.
The Toffees had hoped to land the former Spain U21 international, but instead Torrejon has opted to remain in Spain after agreeing terms with Racing Santander.
Espanyol sources confirmed to skysports.com that a move to Everton would have represented a better deal for them, but the player turned his back on a chance to play in the Premier League.
"It is not official but the agreement is now complete," Espanyol sporting director Ramon Planes confirmed.
It is understood Racing will pay €1.5million for Torrejon, who has agreed a four-year deal at El Sardinero.
