League Two side sign two former players
Cheltenham have made a double swoop for two of their former players in Barry Hayles and Julian Alsop, with both signing non-contract terms.
Hayles, 37, spent two short loan spells at Whaddon Road last term scoring four goals in 12 league appearances, while Alsop, 36, bagged 43 goals in three years with the Robins between 2000 and 2003.
Both strikers arrive on free transfers with Hayles having being released from Leicester, while Alsop plied his trade for Blue Square Conference South club Newport County last term.
The duo are not likely to feature on a regular basis but manager Martin Allen believes that if looked after, Hayles especially can help the Robins bounce back to League One.
"Last season he (Hayles) scored some vital goals and his presence in the dressing room was significant," he told the club's official website.
"I am aware of his age but if we can manage him properly off the field then I'm sure he can help us to win some games."
Meanwhile on Alsop he added: "Julian will not train with us that often and we will wheel him out when we need him but I am sure he can be an effective player for us."
