George Boyd will have a medical at Sheffield Wednesday on Monday, following his release from Burnley.
Boyd's Burnley contract expired in June and he rejected the offer of a one-year extension at Turf Moor.
The 31-year-old made 36 appearances for Burnley last season having joined from Hull City in a £3m move in 2014.
Wednesday reached the play-off semi-finals last season, losing out to Huddersfield on penalties.
The Championship club have already signed former Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes this summer.
Meanwhile, Boyd's former Burnley team-mate Michael Keane underwent a medical at Everton on Monday and the England international is expected to complete his move to Goodison Park this week.
Sheffield Wednesday begin their Championship season with a trip to Preston and their first Sky Live game is against Nottingham Forest on September 9.
