Southampton have confirmed that Gaston Ramirez has been released, but there may be a new role for Kelvin Davis.
Uruguay international winger Ramirez played 55 times for Saints after joining them from Bologna for a reported £12m in 2012.
The 25-year-old, who has won 34 caps for his country, has spent time on loan at Hull City and Middlesbrough - who could make him a permanent signing - in the last two seasons.
Goalkeeper Davis' playing days have come to an end after 10 eventful years at St Mary's which saw them rise from League One to the Premier League, but Saints are keen to retain the 39-year-old in some capacity.
Executive Director of Football Les Reed said: "Kelvin has been instrumental in the club's success in recent years, playing a key part in what has been a special time for everyone involved.
"He has set the perfect example since he arrived at the club.
"Kelvin's tremendous passion and commitment to the club are two of the reasons why we are currently in conversations with him about a new role moving forward, in which he can continue to help the club's progression."
Goalkeeper Will Britt has also been released. He suffered with injuries during the 2015-16 campaign, having made six U21 appearances the previous season.
