Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson insists the Canaries never lost belief during their barren run in the Premier League.
Alex Neil's side halted their 11-game winless streak with a 1-0 victory at West Brom on Saturday thanks to Robbie Brady's second-half goal.
It was their win since they defeated Southampton 1-0 at Carrow Road on January 2 and took them three points clear of the relegation zone ahead of Sunday's fixture between fellow strugglers Newcastle and Sunderland.
"The fight, determination and work-rate is always there with us," said Howson.
"It's just a case that it perhaps shows a bit more when you win games. To be able to go over to the fans having won was great because they've been there for us in recent weeks.
"We'll just concentrate on what we do, irrespective of other teams. We've got a couple of weeks until the next game so it's good to go into the break with a win.
"We need all the lads to give everything, and they're doing that."
The Canaries kept their first away clean sheet of the season against the Baggies and now have back-to-back shutouts after the 0-0 draw with Manchester City last weekend.
Neil's men have drawn with City and narrowly lost to Chelsea and Leicester recently and Howson feels they were rewarded for their performances at The Hawthorns.
"We maybe got what we've deserved," he told Canaries TV. "Our performance was probably at a similar level to recent weeks, and we just feel like we got the rub of the green.
"We've got to build on this now, having built on last week very well."
