Colchester have signed goalkeeper Jake Kean on a 28-day loan from Norwich.
The 24-year-old is expected to be available for United's FA Cup third-round home tie against Charlton.
Kean moved to Carrow Road following his release from Blackburn but has yet to feature for the first-team, playing instead five times for the U21s.
Colchester are second bottom in Sky Bet League 1 but new manager Kevin Keen saw the team end a run of nine straight league defeat with a 1-1 draw at Oldham last weekend.
