Norwich City have made a £7m bid for Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia, according to Sky Italy.
It is understood that Inter's fellow Seria A side Bologna are also interested and that they have a loan bid on the table.
Ranocchia's preference is to remain in Italy but Sky Italy understand the 27-year-old is not ruling out a move to England and that Norwich are very interested in the player.
Ranocchia has been capped 20 times by Italy and has played over 120 times for Inter but has been something of a bit-part player for the Serie A leaders this term.
The tall centre-back, who stands 6ft 5in, made his Inter debut in 2011 after signing from Genoa, but their plethora of defensive options means the title chasers may now be willing to let him leave.
Norwich have climbed up to 15th in the Premier League table but reportedly remain very keen to strengthen their back four.
