Newport 4-2 Cambridge: Jamille Matt completes County comeback
Saturday 29 September 2018 18:48, UK
Newport came back from two goals down to beat Cambridge 4-2 in Sky Bet League Two.
Reggie Lambe's first-half double put Joe Dunne's side in control before Mickey Demetriou sparked the comeback from the penalty spot just before the break.
Padraig Amond levelled things up before substitute Jamille Matt completed the turnaround after an hour and added a fourth two minutes later.
Lambe turned away from Scot Bennett on the edge of the penalty area and placed a curling shot into the bottom corner to give Cambridge the lead after four minutes.
He then penetrated the heart of the Newport defence after 20 minutes and picked out the top corner to send Cambridge into a 2-0 lead.

The hosts were handed a lifeline when Liam O'Neil pushed Charlie Cooper over in the box, which allowed Demetriou to score from the spot.
Newport were level five minutes after the restart when Amond fired the ball into the roof of the net from Dan Butler's inch-perfect cross.
Matt bundled home another Butler delivery to put Michael Flynn's side ahead for the first time before the pair combined again from a free-kick to guarantee all three points.
