Two late goals saw NEC Nijmegen beat Udinese 2-0 in Holland and progress from Group D to the last 32 of the Uefa Cup.
The Dutch side started the game in third place but were heading out of the competition as fourth-placed Spartak Moscow took a two-goal lead at Spurs in the group's other game on the night.
But they secured the win they needed thanks to two second-half goals in three minutes.
Ex-Fulham striker Collins John came on as a substitute to score the opener, slotting in to the top corner from the edge of the box on 75 minutes.
Three minutes later, Jhon Van Beukering then found the net from close range to seal the win.
Udinese still finished top as Spurs got two goals back to draw against Spartak and end up in second place, with NEC a point back in third.
