Shane Ferguson scored twice to help Millwall hammer Colchester 4-1 and extend their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions.
Lee Gregory opened the scoring for Millwall, with Ferguson grabbing a double and Byron Webster a late fourth before Chris Porter grabbed a consolation for Colchester.
Colchester had conceded 37 goals - the most in the Football League - and it only took 13 minutes for the hosts to opening the scoring.
Shaun Williams sent a ball over the top and Gregory got away from Tom Eastman to finish comfortably past Jamie Jones for his 10th goal of the season in all competitions.
The striker then seized on George Elokobi's weak back-header to take the ball around the helpless Jones but he hit the post from a narrow angle.
The Lions grabbed a second goal in the 38th minute with Steve Morison slipping the ball through for Ferguson to slot underneath the goalkeeper.
Colchester halved the deficit against the run of play 10 minutes after the break when substitute Porter pounced on a loose ball to fire into the corner.
Millwall nearly hit back immediately but Aiden O'Brien blasted over after ignoring an unmarked Gregory.
The home team did re-establish their two-goal lead in the 62nd minute when Ferguson found the bottom corner after the impressive Gregory played the ball between Eastman's legs.
The pressure was relentless as Millwall netted a deserved fourth goal after 81 minutes when Webster's shot was deflected in following Morison's header from a corner.
Colchester have now lost their last four away games, conceding 15 goals in the process, and have just one win in the last eight league games.
