Luton climbed to second in Sky Bet League One after beating Fleetwood 2-0 at Kenilworth Road.
With Sunderland's match at Accrington abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch, the Hatters leapfrogged the Black Cats and into the automatic promotion places.
The visitors went closest first, Ched Evans shooting at goalkeeper James Shea.
But Luton took the lead after 11 minutes when Andrew Shinnie's low cross was turned home by Harry Cornick for his third goal in three games.
James Justin curled wide for the hosts and Ryan Taylor fired well over on the half-hour mark, before a 25-yard strike from Cornick was off target.
Fleetwood's Dean Marney put a good chance wide, as did Cornick from Shinnie's hanging cross.
In the second half, Marney's 25-yard drive was straight at Shea, while Luton's Elliot Lee rifled an effort over the top.
Luton secured the points with 10 minutes remaining when substitute Danny Hylton's cross rebounded off Cod Army skipper Craig Morgan to fly past Alex Cairns.
Shea saved from Paddy Madden late on, but the Hatters had done enough to secure yet another home victory.
