A first-half strike from Chris Holroyd gave Stevenage their first away win in the Football League as they beat Lincoln 1-0.
Holroyd was first to react to a 39th-minute long throw, smashing the ball past Lincoln keeper Joe Anyon as the home defence stood and watched. Lincoln went close in the opening minute when Cian Hughton fired into the side-netting. City dominated the opening half-hour but were frustrated by the Stevenage defence. Lincoln winger Albert Jarrett saw a dangerous cross cleared off the line by Lawrie Wilson and a goalbound header from Moses Swaibu was then cleared off the line by Stevenage forward Charlie Griffin. Griffin was unlucky not to double Stevenage's lead just before half-time when Anyon tipped over his free header. Lincoln went looking for the equaliser after the break, but it was Griffin who missed another good chance, mis-kicking from 12 yards out, before Ben Hutchinson slashed a header across the Stevenage box on 85 minutes.
