Stuttering Oxford's play-off hopes suffered another blow as they lost 3-1 at Lincoln - their second defeat in four days.
The visitors looked to have got back into the game after Steve MacLean netted from close range courtesy of a 40th-minute mistake from home keeper Trevor Carson, cancelling out Josh O'Keefe's early opener, but it was not to be. Lincoln almost doubled their lead before Carson's blunder when top scorer Ashley Grimes shot inches wide. Oxford striker Tom Craddock saw a goalbound effort cleared off the line by Imps defender Adam Watts just after half-time. But it was Oxford's turn to self destruct with a horror five-minute spell in which they conceded two own goals under pressure from veteran striker Delroy Facey. Harry Worley hooked a 63rd-minute volley from Facey into his own net before Anthony Tonkin repeated the mistake four minutes later when he sliced a Facey cross past his stranded own keeper Ryan Clarke.
