Lincoln 0-0 Cambridge: U's end run of three defeats with battling draw
Saturday 14 October 2017 20:04, UK
Lincoln and Cambridge played out a 0-0 draw in a game of few chances at Sincil Bank.
The Imps made a lively start and should have taken the lead when Matt Green headed over from virtually underneath the Cambridge crossbar after 26 minutes.
But the home side barely tested visiting goalkeeper David Forde over the entire 90 minutes.
Shaun Derry's Us grew in stature as the game progressed and thought they should have had a penalty just before half-time when keeper Josh Vickers appeared to clatter Mendy Elito.
Green headed straight at Forde early in the second half but Vickers was the busier keeper.

The Imps stopper was called into action midway through the half, keeping out long-range efforts from Liam O'Neil and Piero Mingola in quick succession.
City boss Danny Cowley sent on Jordan Maguire-Drew, Nathan Arnold and Matt Rhead in a bid to increase his side's attacking threat.
But they failed to break a thoroughly organised Cambridge side, who deservedly ended a run of three straight defeats in all competitions.
