Comfortable night for league leaders
Gervinho scored twice on Wednesday as Lille extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to four points.
Eden Hazard was also on target for the league leaders as they brushed aside Nancy 3-0.
A miserable night for the visitors was compounded 14 minutes from time when Andre Luiz was given his marching orders.
Lille, who boast the most prolific attack in the French top flight, were kept at bay in the first half despite piling on the pressure.
Their best opportunity to break the deadlock came from the spot five minutes before the interval, after Florent Balmont was felled inside the box, but Yohan Cabave saw his penalty saved by Damien Gregorini.
Resistance
Nancy's resistance was finally broken after the interval, though, with a 15-minute blitz ending the game as a contest.
Cabaye found Gervinho with a fine defence-splitting pass two minutes after the re-start, and the Ivorian striker was able to round Gregorini before slotting into an empty net.
Two minutes later, Gervinho set up Hazard and the Belgian attacking midfielder hammered home a curling 15-yard shot.
Shortly after the hour mark, Gervinho put the result beyond doubt, poking the ball home after Gregorini had parried Moussa Sow's attempt from close range.
Luiz then saw red on 74 minutes for an aggressive challenge on Hazard, ending any hope Nancy had of staging a late fight back.
