Kilmarnock snatch late winner over St Mirren
Sunday 15 March 2015 17:25, UK
Lee Miller scored three minutes from time to give Kilmarnock a 1-0 win over St Mirren at Rugby Park.
The late goal sees the Buddies remain rock bottom of the table despite creating the bulk of the chances against Killie.
The visitors made a bright start and came close to scoring when Jim Goodwin’s long-range effort was tipped over the bar by Craig Samson, before striker Stevie Thompson’s effort from close range was deflected wide.

Gary Teale’s side continued to dominate and came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock when former Killie man James Dayton rattled the crossbar with a dipping volley.
The home side gradually found their rhythm and went close when Alexei Eremenko’s ball over the top found Nathan Eccleston, but the striker dragged his shot wide.
But their best chance of the half fell to Josh Magennis whose header from Eremenko’s cross struck the bar before he was flagged offside.
Eremenko continued to pull the strings in midfield and set up Eccleston again but the striker’s low shot was well saved by Mark Ridgers.
Both sides carved out fewer opportunities in a cagey second half.
Dayton tried his luck from distance with a drive which Craig Samson saved at his near post.
The game looked to be petering out into a draw until substitute Miller converted a cross from close range to seal victory.
The win keeps Killie in eighth place while St Mirren are a point adrift at the foot of the table.
