Sonko double not enough for Moore's men
Hereford fought back twice to stop Tranmere in their tracks as a highly entertaining Boxing Day encounter finished 2-2.
Gambian international Edrissa Sonko twice put Tranmere in front but Hereford responded with Toumani Diagouraga and Steve Guinan on target.
Hereford had several earlier openings with Lionel Ainsworth, Guinan and Matt Done all failing to find the target before Sonko put the Rovers in front in the 38th minute.
Bas Savage released the ball to him and he beat goalkeeper Craig Samson with a low drive from 15 yards into the corner of the net.
But in first-half stoppage time Diagouraga levelled for the Bulls with a rising shot into the roof of the net from 12 yards.
Early in the second period Guinan headed wide of the Rovers goal as Hereford pushed forward again, but Sonko struck again in the 61st minute when he rifled home from just inside the penalty area.
Hereford, however, levelled again four minutes later when Guinan ran the ball past Coyne from 18 yards.
