Hereford overcome Aldershot for third straight home win
Hereford made it three straight wins at Edgar Street as they eased to a 2-0 win against Aldershot.
Striker Gavin McCallum rolled the ball into the net in the 27th minute to set up the victory, latching onto a loose ball after a mix-up between Chris Blackburn and Anthony Charles to score from close range.
It was McCallum's fourth goal in three home games and, to make matters worse for the Shots, Blackburn gifted Hereford their second when he turned a shot from Mark Pugh into his own net in the 35th minute.
Aldershot's best effort of the first half came to Charles but on both occasions he failed to beat Hereford goalkeeper Adam Bartlett.
Visiting defender Anthony Straker wasted a chance to reduce the deficit in the 61st minute when he drilled the ball over the bar with only Bartlett to beat.
With eight minutes remaining, Blackburn blocked a goalbound drive from James McQuilkin as John Trewick's Hereford continued to push forward. And Charles headed another chance wide just before the end as the Bulls held firm to secure the three points.
