Go Ahead Eagles snatched a 2-2 draw at Heerenveen on Friday thanks to a late equaliser from substitute Leon de Kogel.
Sam Hendriks fired the visitors ahead in the 32nd minute, following up to score after his initial effort was kept out by home goalkeeper Erwin Mulder.
But Henk Veerman made an immediate impact three minutes after climbing off the bench when he slotted home from close range to equalise.
Another sub, Luciano Slagveer, fired Heerenveen into the lead in the 70th minute to put them in sight of victory.
But De Kogel had other ideas and tucked in the leveller with a minute remaining.
Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord are in action on Sunday when they go to Sparta Rotterdam, with second-placed Ajax travelling to Groningen.
PSV Eindhoven have the chance to close the gap as they face Roda JC Kerkrade on Saturday.
