Hartlepool fought back to claim a 2-2 draw against a Carlisle side who appeared to have beaten them in the first half. The Cumbrians took the lead in spectacular fashion after 11 minutes when Marc Bridge-Wilkinson hit a 25-yard shot into the top corner after a headed clearance landed at his feet. Pool were almost level after 21 minutes when Antony Sweeney curled in a 20-yard shot that Ben Williams turned around the post with his fingertips. But Carlisle were 2-0 up after 40 minutes when Peter Murphy headed Graham Kavanagh's corner towards goal and Cleveland Taylor hooked the ball into the roof of the net. Hartlepool managed to narrow the gap after 59 minutes when Michael Nelson flicked on a ball from the left and Andy Monkhouse slammed in from close range. And they levelled with five minutes left when Joel Porter glanced home a near-post header from Matty Robson's right-wing corner.
