Callum Lang spared Oldham’s blushes as his injury-time winner fired the Latics to a 2-1 win at non-league Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Oldham had trailed for long periods to Chris Dickson’s penalty but Rob Hunt and Lang notched late on to turn the tie on its head.
The Beavers were in dreamland 15 minutes in, Dickson firing home from the spot after Lang had been penalised for hauling back Tyrell Miller-Rodney in the box.
Celebrations were nearly cut short as Ishamel Miller forced Tom Lovelock into a fine save while the Hampton goalkeeper had to pounce and claw Lang’s effort off the line after it had struck the upright.
Midway through the half, Jose Baxter looked to have won the Latics a spot-kick, tumbling to the floor after Lovelock had raced to meet him, but the Oldham man was booked for simulation.

Before half-time, visiting skipper Peter Clarke failed to punish the Beavers, placing a free header wide of the mark.
But the Latics rescued themselves, Dan Gardner racing the length of the pitch on the counter and squaring for Hunt to force home the equaliser.
And in added time, Lang burst to life in the box, turning his defender and slamming past Lovelock to break Hampton hearts.
