Lyon moved back to the top of Ligue 1 for 24 hours at least after a comfortable 3-1 victory at Guingamp.
Nabil Fekir's goal and Alexandre Lacazette's penalty in the first half put Les Gones in control and Guingamp's hopes of a comeback took a blow when Christophe Kerbrat was giving his marching orders before half-time.
Clinton N'Jie struck just after the hour to put Hubert Fournier's three goals to the good, meaning Claudio Beauvue's effort 10 minutes from time was mere consolation.
It was Lyon's first win in three and moved them back above Paris St Germain, who play third-placed Marseille in a much-anticipated encounter on Sunday evening.
The visitors made a bright start as Fekir curled narrowly wide on the edge of the area, but the French midfielder, who earned his first senior cap last week, did better with his next effort in the 26th minute.
The 21-year-old was grateful for a wicked deflection as his strike from just outside the box took a touch off a Guingamp defender to wrong-foot goalkeeper Jonas Lossl.
Fekir was running the show just behind the strikers and his lay-off let in Corentin Tolisso, who took the ball away from goal before his strike was blocked by Lossl.
But the Danish keeper was beaten again in the 39th minute when Lacazette smashed home from the spot, having been fouled by Baissama Sankoh.
Guingamp were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half-time when Kerbrat was shown a red card for a rash challenge on Jordan Ferri.
After a rather quiet start to the second period, Lyon went three goals to the good when Ferri's free-kick was volleyed in by N'Jie in the 61st minute.
To their credit, the hosts did not throw in the towel completely as Sambou Yatabare's header was well saved by Anthony Lopes, a virtual spectator up to that point.
The Lyon keeper was beaten in the 80th minute as Beauvue dispossessed Samuel Umtiti and combined with Mustapha Diallo before sending the ball underneath Lopes for a consolation goal.
