Izale McLeod hit his seventh goal of the season as Crawley came back from a goal behind to draw 1-1 at home to improving Crewe.
Teenager George Cooper fired the Alex ahead in the first half, but John Gregory's side improved after the break to deny Crewe a fourth win in the last five games. Crewe, without eight players through injury and suspension, settled quickly and broke the deadlock in the 19th minute with a well-worked goal from winger Cooper. The 18-year-old fired home low to the left of goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown following a one-two with defender James Baillie, who was called up for his first Crewe start along with striker Danny Haynes. Crawley came to life on the half-hour mark when striker McLeod's low shot was gathered by goalkeeper Ben Garratt, who later parried an effort from the former MK Dons striker. Ashdown came to Crawley's rescue by tipping over a fierce close-range shot from John Guthrie after a corner from Cooper. Crawley winger Gwion Edwards had a deflected shot saved by Garratt 11 minutes after a quick break involving substitute Matt Harrold. McLeod later had a close-range effort saved low down by Garratt before putting his side level in the 69th minute by rifling home from just inside the area following a cross from Edwards.
