Huddersfield's record 43-match unbeaten run was ended at The Valley as League One leaders Charlton ran out 2-0 winners on Monday.
First-half goals from Yann Kermorgant and Hogan Ephraim took the Addicks seven points clear at the top of the table and inflicted their visitors' first league defeat in 44 matches The Terriers fought hard to keep their run going and improved after the break after the arrival of substitutes Danny Ward and Anton Robinson, but they couldn't break through a resolute Charlton backline. Kermorgant headed in a Danny Green free-kick to put the hosts ahead (23) before Ephraim followed up to score (41) after Ian Bennett raced out to thwart Bradley Wright-Phillips. The woodwork was struck three times after the break, Kermorgant coming close to a second with a powerful header before Danny Ward's cross-shot and Jon Parkin's effort also cannoned back off the frame of the goal.
