First-half goals from Danny Rose and strike partner Nicky Maynard earned Mansfield their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Carlisle.
The visitors made the most of their chances in a scrappy game, putting three points on the board after drawing their first two League Two games.
Carlisle started brightly, with wingers Nathan Thomas and Harry McKirdy in positive mood. Thomas twice had Mansfield goalkeeper Conrad Logan diving to save at his near post and McKirdy steamed on to a Thomas cross only to fire over from 10 yards.
However it was Mansfield who scored from their first real chance of the game in the 28th minute. Willem Tomlinson's curling cross from the left was met by Rose at the far post and the striker beat Adam Collin from close range for his third goal in three games.
Stags made it 2-0 with the last action of the first half when Maynard seized on a loose ball to rifle a low shot into the bottom left corner from 25 yards.
Even the second-half introduction of Elias Sorensen, Carlisle's new loan signing from Newcastle, failed to spark the home side as they fell to defeat.
