Cambridge's woeful home form continued as they lost 1-0 against MK Dons.
Chuks Aneke struck the decisive goal for the visitors after 29 minutes, winning a key battle with Brad Halliday by the halfway line before running clear on goal and slotting the ball under David Forde.
Forde had made a good early save to keep the game goalless, parrying Rhys Healey's powerful shot on the turn, and he was called on after Aneke's goal to push away Alex Gilbey's shot from the edge of the area.
Cambridge went on to dominate large swathes of the game, and could have been level before half-time but when Ade Azeez met David Amoo's powerful cross he could only head over from almost underneath the crossbar.
In the second half Dons midfielder Jordan Houghton was called upon to make a vital interception, clearing behind for a corner to stop Azeez tapping in from Amoo's ball from the byline,.
Visiting goalkeeper Lee Nicholls then saved well at his near post from Halliday's left-footed shot as the Dons held on for all three points.
