Goalkeeping heroics ensure stalemate
A late wonder save from Wojciech Szczesny earned Brentford a point from a stalemate between two of the League One also-rans.
Bristol Rovers looked set to win a game with nothing at stake when substitute Eliot Richard teed up Chris Lines after 81 minutes, but the midfielder's shot from point-blank range was somehow blocked by the diving Bees keeper.
Charlie MacDonald hit the post for Brentford in the first half and Leon Legge saw a header bounce off of the top of the crossbar.
But there was little between the sides and Szczesny saved well from Andy Williams after 39 minutes.
Bees skipper Karleigh Osborne produced two goal-line clearances early in the second half and Szczesny denied Williams again with a brave block to deny the Pirates all three points.
