Bordeaux remain a point outside the European places in Ligue 1 after being held to a 1-1 draw by Reims.
Victory would have taken the hosts fourth in the table and they were on course when Swedish striker Isaac Kiese Thelin found the net.
But Gaetan Charbonnier responded before half-time and Reims goalkeeper Kossi Agassa ensured that was how it stayed.
Reims twice went close to opening the scoring, David Ngog denied brilliantly by keeper Cedric Carrasso before Odair Fortes headed Benjamin Moukandjo's cross just wide.
But it was Bordeaux who took the lead in the 19th minute, Wahbi Khazri with the cross from the left which was turned in at the back post by Thelin.
But just after the half-hour mark Reims were level as Moukandjo swung in a free-kick and Charbonnier headed powerfully past Carrasso.
Agassa performed miracles to keep his side on terms going into half-time, saving spectacularly from Thelin who had been played in at point-blank range by Khazri.
Nicolas Pallois was next to be denied by Agassa after heading the dangerous Khazri's free-kick towards goal early in the second period.
Reims' best chance of the second half saw Charbonnier feed Prince Oniangue, who let fly from 30 yards but saw his shot saved on the line by Carrasso.
Clement Chantome crossed for Jaroslav Plasil to test Agassa with an angled drive that the keeper pushed over the bar.
When Agassa also repelled Khazri's free-kick from just outside the penalty area, he and Reims had done enough to secure a share of the spoils.
