Paddy Madden's first-half brace sealed all three points for Scunthorpe as they beat Barnsley 2-1 at Oakwell.
Marcello Trotta's strike gave Barnsley the lead midway through the first half, but Scunthorpe came back quickly with Madden equalising within a minute after good work down the right by Gary McSheffrey. Madden then put the Iron ahead just before the break, running through the Tykes defence before slotting the ball comfortably past goalkeeper Ross Turnbull. Barnsley pushed for an equaliser in the second half and had some good chances, with Devante Cole driving a close-range shot over the crossbar. But Mark Robins' men held on for only their second win under his management. The result lifts Scunthorpe up to 21st place in the table, now only in the relegation zone on goal difference with a game in hand. Barnsley drop to 14th, with just two wins in their last seven games and they sit just three points above the drop zone.
