Barnsley 1-1 Fleetwood: All-square in Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area final
Saturday 9 January 2016 17:59, UK
Barnsley and Fleetwood played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area final at Oakwell.
An Adam Davies own goal gave Rochdale the lead just after the hour mark, but a 73rd-minute header from debutant Ashley Fletcher set up an interesting return leg.
Barnsley started the game well, with Conor Hourihane's shot from the edge of the box cleared off the line in the 10th minute.
Fleetwood grew into the first half and Bobby Grant's curled effort nearly saw the visitors go ahead.
And the Cod Army did break the deadlock in the 61st minute. Following a searing run and cross from Ashley Hunter, Tykes goalkeeper Davies could do nothing but watch as his misjudged punch deflected the ball into his own net.

Barnsley levelled the scores 12 minutes later. Rising at the back post, Manchester United loanee Fletcher met Adam Hammill's lofted cross to head into the roof of the net.
Both sides pushed for a winner, but the scores remain level ahead of the second leg next month.
