AZ come from a goal down to collect three points
AZ Alkmaar maintained their own European ambitions and ensured Vitesse Arnhem remained in relegation troubled with a 3-1 win.
Gertjan Verbeek's fourth-placed AZ had to come from a goal down, but they built a four-point cushion over ADO Den Haag with what in the end was a comfortable victory.
Vitesse remain in relegation trouble in 15th position and are now four points behind 14th place having played a game more.
Marco van Ginkel opened the scoring shortly before half-time after the 18-year-old was set up by Michihiro Yasuda.
But Pontus Wernbloom (63), Simon Poulsen (80) and Maarten Martens (84) completed the turnaround for AZ.
