Barca, looking to extend their tournament-best record of Copa del Rey crowns to 26, made it 2-0 through Thiago in the 55th minute with a looping header into the far corner of the net.
Holland international Afellay then wrapped up the scoring 10 minutes later with his first goal for the club, the former PSV Eindhoven man thumping a low shot past Esteban Suarez.
