Accrington 3-2 Stevenage: Stunning comeback win for Stanley
Saturday 3 February 2018 20:55, UK
Sean McConville was the hero in another Accrington comeback as Stanley beat Stevenage 3-2 at home.
In their last home game against Port Vale, the Reds were 2-0 down but claimed three points thanks to a McConville double and a Billy Kee strike - and history repeated itself at the Crown Ground.
Stevenage took the lead in the 14th minute when Matt Godden tucked the ball into the bottom corner of the net after latching on to a pass from Mark McKee.
The visitors made it 2-0 when Accrington failed to clear their lines and McKee fired home from the edge of the area on 38 minutes.
Winger McConville started the fightback against Port Vale in the 51st minute but started this one in first-half stoppage time from a 20-yard free-kick.

Stevenage were still a threat and Jack King hit the top of the crossbar in the 57th minute.
But Stanley levelled with 20 minutes left with a short corner to Billy Kee and he turned and squeezed the ball home for his 18th goal of the season.
Stevenage hit the frame of the goal for a second time as substitute Danny Newton went close before the visitors failed to clear their lines and McConville lashed home the winner from 15 yard with 12 minutes left.
