Accrington eased their relegation worries with a 2-0 win over Port Vale to pile piled the pressure on Dean Glover.
Ryan and Proctor sink Vale
Jimmy Ryan rifled home his ninth goal of the season to ease Accrington's relegation worries with a 2-0 win which piled more pressure on Port Vale boss Dean Glover.
The ex-Liverpool midfielder was on the end of a well-worked corner routine with John Miles crossing, Phil Edwards dummying and Ryan smashing the ball home in the 27th minute.
This made the game safe after Andy Procter headed in his third goal of the campaign in the third minute, getting on the end of Miles' cross.
Stanley had more chances with Procter heading wide, Chris Turner firing over and Craig Lindfield testing Valiants keeper Joe Anyon as they secured only their second home win of the year.
A poor Vale improved after the break but still struggled to carve out any clear-cut chances although Louis Dodds did force a superb save out of Kenny Arthur after the striker turned and volleyed goalwards.
Glover's side, who are just above the 19th placed Reds in the table, have now won just once in five games.
