Dramatic day ends in victory for McLaren ace
Jenson Button has hailed an "amazing day" at Montreal as he secured a dramatic win at the Canadian Grand Prix.
A crazy day at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit saw Button make six visits to the pits - five for tyres and one drive-through penalty - and involved in accidents with McLaren team-mate Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso.
However having found himself down in 21st with 43 laps remaining after the collision with Alonso punctured a tyre, Button's tenacity eventually paid dividends.
The determination and brilliant driving of the Briton saw him storm through the field before he took advantage of a mistake from Sebastian Vettel around three kilometres from home to claim the win.
World champion Vettel slid wide at turn six and the McLaren ace needed no second invitation to take the opening.
And Button ranked the victory up there with his debut triumph back in Hungary in 2006 when he came from 14th on the grid in wet conditions to take the chequered flag.

"My first grand prix win was pretty special, as it always will be, and it was a very similar situation with the weather," said Button.
"But I would personally say - and I'm going to say it because I'm emotionally attached to this win because it's just happened - it's the best one I've had in my career.
"It certainly had its ups and downs, let's just say that.
"It was definitely one of those grands prix where you are nowhere, then you're somewhere, then nowhere and then somewhere.
"But as we always say the last lap is the important one to be leading and I did so for half of it.
"It was an amazing day, really an amazing day. To fight my way through from last, it's definitely my best race.
"This is a very special race to win from where I was and I will remember it for a long time.
"I will really enjoy this moment for a long time as I feel I did the best job I possibly could."
