Toro Rosso decide to use fifth Renault engine of the season; 17-year-old starts from the back of the grid and must also serve 10s time penalty in Sunday's race

Max Verstappen will take a 15-place grid penalty at this weekend’s Canadian GP after Toro Rosso elected to change his car’s engine.
The decision to install the fifth Renault engine that the 17-year-old Dutch driver has used so far this season triggers a 10-place penalty for Verstappen, on top of the five-place penalty he picked up at the Monaco GP following his collision with Romain Grosjean’s Lotus.
It seems the latter penalty, on what is also proving to be a more difficult weekend for Toro Rosso, has influenced their decision.
Verstappen was 12th fastest in qualifying and so will start from the back of the grid. However, because seven penalty places were untaken, Article 16.3(b) of the FIA's Sporting Regulations states that he must also serve a 10-second time penalty in Sunday’s race.
